What is SoulDrip?

SoulDrip is a Korean hand-drip brewing method developed by Master Jae-Yong Shim through the integration and refinement of his experience with Point Drip, Jeong Drip, Donut Drip, and Cloth Filter Brewing.

The Motivation Behind SoulDrip

Just as every grape variety in wine possesses its own distinctive aroma and flavor, coffee varieties should also be able to express their unique characteristics clearly and faithfully.

Master Jae-Yong Shim views coffee not simply as a beverage, but as the expression of a fruit. For this reason, he has continuously researched and developed SoulDrip to reveal the floral notes, fruit characteristics, sweetness, and texture inherent in each coffee bean with greater clarity.

The Core Principles of SoulDrip

1. Dissolution Rather Than Extraction

Conventional hand-drip brewing focuses on extracting compounds by pouring water through coffee grounds.

SoulDrip is closer to the idea of

"Dissolving the coffee."

Rather than forcing flavors out quickly, it gently unfolds aroma and sweetness over time.
